Neils Email
In Sept 2005, I was on holiday in lochgoilhead Scotland and came across a full page Daily mail newspaper article dated Sat April 3rd 2004, which had been framed and hung on the wall of the holiday cottage I was staying in.It was a story entitled 'Last flight of the Bomber'. After reading it I felt driven to find the crash site,so spent the first week doing just that, with a little info from the locals. On the way up Succoth Glen I met four Americans coming down, they stopped me and asked if I was going up to the crash site,I told them how I had spent most of the week trying to find it, and yes,of cause I was,.The lady then explained that the old man in the group was non other than the younger brother of SGT Paul Knight, killed in the crash, and the reason for their visit that day was to place a personal plaque and an American flag at the site. She then told me that the climb was to much for the man and they had had to give up,but then asked me if I would take the two mentioned offerings and place them at the site, which of cause I gladly agreed it to be an honour, and we said our farewells. Now, years later, after many attempts via US local papers to locate them in America, I wish I had asked them for a phone number or email address!.
I reached the site at 3:50 on the 17/9/2005 and placed the Flag and plaque on the memorial, and whilst in tears, said a few words for the lost. The main reason I'm contacting you is in the hope that you can pass on all the photos I took that day,the day I placed the plaque for the brother of SGT Paul W Knight, just to show that I did what was asked, and that his memory and thoughts of his brother were fulfilled and honoured, and in the hope he can know this before they meet again.

I would love to contact Pauls brother and tell him I did the climb and placed the plaque on his behalf, to bring closure to this heartfelt, and unfinished, story.I have attached one of the pictures, the first one at the memorial that day.
Thank you,and kindest regards
Neil Dangerfield.
